Privacy Policy

Photoame ("Photoame", "we", "us") is a private photo-messaging app that connects exactly two people. This policy explains what we collect, why, how it is stored, and the choices you have. Photoame is for adults: you must be 18 or older to use it.

Information we collect

We only collect information needed to operate the app.

Information you provide

• Sign in with Apple. Photoame's only sign-in method is Sign in with Apple. Apple gives us a unique account identifier so we can recognize you. You may choose to share or hide your name and email through Apple; if you hide your email, Apple relays messages through a private address.
• Display name. The name you choose for your partner to see.
• Age confirmation. A record that you confirmed you are 18 or older, and when.
• Photos and captions ("snaps"). The photos and optional captions you send to your partner. Photoame does not save these to your device's photo library.
• Reports. If you report your partner, we store the report (reason, any detail you add, and identifiers for the people and snap involved) so our team can review it.

Information collected automatically

• Push notification token. A device token from Apple Push Notification service so we can notify you when a snap arrives.
• Crash diagnostics. We use Google Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports (for example device model, operating-system version, and diagnostic logs) so we can fix bugs. This data is used only to improve reliability.
• Basic operational data. Records needed to run the service, such as your pairing status, snap delivery/open/keep state, and timestamps.

We do not collect your contacts, precise location, browsing history, or advertising identifiers, and Photoame contains no third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

How we use information

We use the information above only to:

• create and secure your account and authenticate you;
• deliver snaps to your one paired partner and notify you of new snaps;
• enforce the app's rules (view-once, one replay, mutual "keep", pairing);
• keep you safe (process reports and blocks, and apply screenshot notices);
• diagnose crashes and improve the app; and
• comply with law and enforce our terms.

We do not use your information for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell or rent it.

How snaps work and how long we keep data

• Snaps are ephemeral. A snap is deleted from our servers after it is viewed (plus its single allowed replay) or after it expires, whichever comes first. A scheduled cleanup process also removes expired snaps.
• Kept snaps. A snap is retained only if both people choose "Keep". A kept photo is saved inside the app (in the "Us" gallery), including a copy stored on your device. Ending the pair or deleting your account removes it.
• Ending a pair. Ending a pair deletes all snaps shared in that pair for both people.
• Account data (identifier, display name, age confirmation, pairing state) is kept while your account exists and is deleted when you delete your account.
• Reports may be retained after review for safety, legal, and abuse-prevention purposes.
• Crash diagnostics are retained according to Firebase Crashlytics' standard retention.

How your information is shared

We share information only with service providers that operate the app on our behalf, and only as needed:

• Google Firebase / Google Cloud — authentication, database (Firestore), photo storage (Cloud Storage), server logic (Cloud Functions), push delivery (Cloud Messaging), and crash reporting (Crashlytics). Google processes this data on our behalf as our service provider.
• Apple — Sign in with Apple (authentication) and the Apple Push Notification service (notifications).

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.

We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising.

Safety: reporting and blocking

Photoame provides tools to keep you safe from another user:

• Report — from Settings or directly while viewing a snap, you can report your partner. Reports are reviewed by our team; we aim to review reports promptly (within 24 hours) and act on violations.
• Block — blocking ends your pair, deletes shared snaps, and permanently prevents pairing with that person again.
• Screenshot notice — if a snap is screenshotted, the sender is notified.

We do not tolerate harassment, unwanted nudity, impersonation, or other abusive content. Reported content and accounts may be removed and offending users banned.

Your choices and rights

• Access / correction — you can update your display name in the app.
• Delete your account — Settings → Delete account permanently deletes your account and associated data, ends any pair, and removes your snaps.
• Notifications — you can turn off push notifications in iOS Settings.
• Depending on where you live (for example the EEA/UK or California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. Contact us at the email above to exercise them.

Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and provider-managed encryption at rest, and server-enforced access rules so that only you and your partner can access your snaps. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

Photoame is intended only for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

International users

Photoame is operated using Google Cloud infrastructure and your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. By using Photoame you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
